South SF YDA1 Teaching Team 


Kelly Stuckey, Jr. (SSF Teacher), is a Visual Designer and Photographer based in San Francisco. He is graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California College of the Arts in May 2018. He is currently a Graphic Designer at the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD). He is passionate about creating design solutions that educate and have a lasting impact on people across many cultures. He believes that the beauty and power of design lies in serving others. It is under that belief that Kelly has always sought to make work that is significant, delightful, and most importantly—functional.


Paolo Ertreo (SSF Teacher)is currently a Senior Product Designer at Strava, where he leads product design on the Growth team. Previously Paolo started his own startup: Paylance, which helped digital designers get paid for their freelance work. Paolo began his career working in the video game business in Italy, where he was born and raised. He holds a Bachelor in Illustration & Animation from the European Design Institute in Milan, Italy and still loves to illustrate from time to time.


Jose Zamudio (SSF TA)  was born in Mexico and raised in both Oakland and Detroit. Jose’s exposure to design didn’t happen until his later high school years. But after learning about it, it was love at first click. Since then, he’s worked in the magazine publishing industry and tech. He is now a Senior Graphic Designer at Unity, a game development platform based out of San Francisco.

Angela Niemi (SSF TA) works as a Digital Product Designer for Meltwater, a PR and Communications software company. She specializes in user experience, design strategy and collaboration. Angela spends her weekends going snowboarding or learning how to surf!


Rahele Tesfu (SSF TA) serves on the YDA teaching team as a TA. She is a first generation Ethiopian- American, born and raised in Dallas, Texas. She has a background in Business and Entrepreneurship, having studied at The University of Texas at Dallas. She was introduced to product design while in college, and fell in love with the principles of design and its impact on society. She believes in the power of inclusive design in order better serve the public good. Rahele is excited to serve with Inneract Project and hopes to cultivate students interest in the design field this summer!


Jess Liu (SSF TA) serves on the YDA teaching team as a TA. Jess is currently a student at Cal studying Cognitive Science and Asian American/Asian Diaspora Studies. She currently works as a UX Design Assistant at UC Berkeley Student Info Systems, and she’ll be joining Facebook as a product design intern in the summer of 2018. Jess grew up in New Jersey, enduring freezing winters and blazing summers, so she now appreciates the eternally mild Bay Area weather. In her free time, Jess enjoys cooking, doing yoga, and petting dogs.


Justin Lee (SSF TA) is a multidisciplinary visual designer who loves combining different mediums and technologies in collaborative spaces. Born on the east coast and raised in the west, he left home to seek a bachelor degree at San Diego State University. After working as a fisherman in Alaska, he returned home to pursue an MFA in Graphic Design at Academy of Art University. For his thesis, he designed a hypothetical, youth-centric mobile bank focused on jumpstarting a healthy credit history for young consumers.

East Bay (EB) YDA1 Teaching Team


Anu (uh-noo) Murthy (EB Teacher) is a Designer based in Oakland, CA. Her work sits at the intersection of community, culture, and design. She currently works for a digital advertising agency and crafts digital campaigns.


Akeem Allen (EB Teacher) is a freelance designer that uses storytelling and entrepreneurial thought & action to create for positive social change. Fundamentally, he believes that current systems have failed to properly serve the needs of the people. This means that radical thought and action are key to designing new solutions. During his time as an entrepreneurship teacher in South Africa, he emphasized self-empowerment, community, and resourcefulness as ways to right social injustices throughout the Mamelodi Township. He has also spent time co-designing extracurricular STEM programs with young people in Clarksdale, Mississippi, building online courses for social activism, and bringing new products to market. Overall, his focus in the classroom is to provide learners with the tools and space they need to think big and bring their ideas into reality. Akeem is a recent Entrepreneurial Design graduate from Babson College and enjoys traveling and making music in his free time.


Sativa Turner (EB TA) is an industrial designer with a background designing consumer goods in the home, gift, and children’s markets. She has founded two product based companies, Whooz and Double Double where she currently works. Her products challenge assumptions and deliver innovative solutions that delight customers.


Marcela Carillo (EB TA) 
has over 12 years of experience in advertising, identity, packaging, editorial and user experience design. She also was an adjunct Instructor for graphic design at Fresno State University. Her work has been recognized by the ADDYs in the area of packaging, identity and interactive site design. Marcela believes in creative thinking creates positive change and makes for big impact. This will be her second year working with the Inneract Project!

Saad Ansari

Saad Ansari’s (EB TA) diverse background is an example of how design skills can be used to solve a variety of problems. He’s worked on online games, digital wayfinding for the World Trade Center in New York, technical health insurance software, and many other projects. Currently, Saad is an Interaction Designer who works on Android at Google. When he’s not designing, Saad enjoys video games, cooking, and drawing.


Jon Chan (EB TA) is currently a product designer at Facebook. Previously, he was at an Ed Tech startup called InformedK12. Prior to that, he was at Opower working on products that used behavioral science to motivate people to use less energy. Jon studied Computer Science at Cal and worked as a software engineer for 5 years before moving into design. He grew up in the Bay Area and currently lives in Oakland. In his spare time, he loves cooking and being outdoors.

San Francisco YDA1 Teaching Team 


Coraly Rosario (SF Teacher)  Hailing from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, Coraly’s adventure started over 12 years ago when she first took interest in graphic design and teaching. Later, her innate interests naturally evolved into a love-affair with UI/UX in games, working with startups like Beyond Games and continuing to teach others about user research and experience design in the games industry. She currently leads as a designer at Fingerprint Play where she’s involved in the development of content platforms for children, such as Samsung Kids, and other evolving products that are focused around children’s education.

Robert Nepomuceno (SF Teacher)studied architecture at UC Berkeley. After graduation, he was a Teach For America corps remember and taught 8th grade math in Las Vegas before making the transition to working in tech. He is currently a recruiter at Facebook. In his spare time he enjoys doing graphic design, watching Disney movies, and eating as much Mexican food as he can.


Friedrich Riha (SF TA) is a Senior Product Designer at Udacity (an online education startup), where he is currently working on designing a new online learning experience. Although his name is Friedrich, everyone calls him Fritz – even he doesn’t know where the nickname comes from. When he is not designing, you can catch Fritz playing or watching soccer, or trying to finish the latest book he picked up.


Rachel Lin (SF TA)  While studying Media Studies and Computer Science at UC Berkeley, Rachel learned that she could bridge her interests in art, social sciences, and engineering through design. She’s currently designing experiences for schools and districts to engage with their communities as a Product Designer at Remind. When her nose isn’t in a good book, she enjoys playing badminton and experimenting in the kitchen.

Derek Khaothong

Derek Khaothong (SF TA) is a recent college graduate from UCLA with a B.S. in cognitive science that enjoys going to concerts, cooking Thai food with his family, and hiking around the world. A bay area native and a first generation college student, Derek’s interest in design began as a teenager when he began creating custom skateboard deck graphics. Currently, Derek is a freelance visual designer located in San Jose, CA, where he can be found targeting small businesses for design work and advocating the importance of user experience to small businesses.


Dominique Moore (SF TA) is a UX Research intern at Apple, and a senior majoring in Computer Science at Brown University. She has been interested in the intersection of psychology and technology for as long as she can remember, and loves figuring out ways to make technology more accessible and usable for people of diverse backgrounds. In the past, she was a Biomedical Engineering Instructor with Generation Teach, a Program Coordinator and Teacher for the Artemis Project, and a TA for the Brown University Computer Science department. In her spare time, she loves listening to pop-punk, writing, playing guitar, and reading sci-fi.
