Let’s face it, 2020 was a difficult year. Whether working remotely or as an
essential worker, life during a pandemic has given us all a new appreciation
and longing for the normalcy we once had.
Looking back on last year, Inneract Project certainly had to adjust to a new set of
challenges. But we have also been blessed to see new levels of activation in the
design industry. We’ve been in the fight for equity in design for many
years and are honored to see that the design industry is responding and
reaching out to ask how they, too, can help to uplift and bring more
opportunities to communities of color.
For over 16 years, Inneract Project has fought to see that Black, Latinx, and underrepresented people of color be supported in the design industry. And this is our first year sharing a Year-In-Review where we celebrate our wins, highlight some of the incredible work achieved by our students and volunteers, and offer you a more detailed view into the inner workings of our programs.
We are so thankful to our team of students, volunteers and partners for helping to make 2020 a triumphant year for us at IP. We are committed to empowering the next generation of Black, Latinx, and underrepresented designers of color. And we are excited to share with you how far we’ve come.
