Inneract Project is a nonprofit organization working to empower the next generation of Black, Latinx and underrepresented designers of color. We care about uplifting the voices and creativity of designers of color, and introducing them to the many pathways that design may offer.

We provide free design classes and initiatives that introduce students to the field of design in hopes of channeling their creativity into exciting new career paths. We partner with design professionals, schools and tech companies, to ensure that students gain hands-on learning experiences that center design, collaboration and critical thinking. And we foster a supportive environment for students and designers alike to build lasting relationships that follow them throughout their careers.

Our vision is to build a global design education platform for Black, Latinx and underrepresented designers of color

Our Values are:

Equity in Design

We believe in expanding opportunity and uplifting the experiences of Black, Latinx and underrepresented communities of color in everything we do. For us, equity means holding design communities accountable to their actions and ending the systemic barriers that work against designers of color and marginalized communities. In doing so, we are working to create opportunities for designers of color to thrive in every way possible.

Uplifting Underrepresented Voices

We know that many up and coming designers come from predominantly Black and Latinx backgrounds. We aim to make sure that their voices are welcomed and respected in every space they enter, especially in design and tech environments. This is why we encourage our community members to share their stories, ask challenging questions, and dream big so that their needs and interests may always be included.

Guiding with Purpose

We are serious about our intention to empower Black, Latinx and underrepresented designers of color, and always aim to lead by example. We are invested in building genuine relationships with every person that is a part of our community. And we aspire to remain part of our students’ lives well into their professional careers so that they always have someone supportive in their corner.

Collective Learning

We believe that learning comes in many shapes and sizes. We always see opportunities to learn from our students, our community members, our partners and each other. We encourage all of our designers, including our younger ones, to share their wisdom because we gain new insights from them everyday. We know that opening ourselves to the knowledge of underrepresented communities of color serves to make us stronger and more aware of our collective needs.
